I attended the Illinois Library Association annual conference last week. As President Elect of the Trustee Forum, I was excited to welcome everyone at the Trustee Breakfast and to honor our Trustee of the Year. Networking with trustees from all over the state was another favored activity of all Trustees.

The Trustee Forum is dedicated to creating continuing education experiences for trustees from all libraries in Illinois. In addition to the programs on Trustee Day, the Forum also hosts a Spring Seminar to keep Trustees well informed of their duties.

This is a very important program because the State of Illinois has just passed a resolution to have library trustees complete continuing education hours each year.
